Open data is a source of value. Public Administrations are large producers and collectors of data, which, made available to third parties, improve transparency and are the engine of economic growth and social improvement. The opening of data encourages innovation and the creation and/or adaptation of companies around Internet services and technologies that can generate business from the reuse of data.
New products and services drawing on said public data are capable of proposing alternative and novel solutions to social challenges, while at the same time having an impact on improving the competitiveness of the territory.
A large part of the data generated by the public administration and the government can be consulted under the different transparency and open government initiatives. The opening of public data promotes the transparency of public administrations and promotes the collaboration of society in improving public services. In our society there are various cases of applications or programs created from the open data provided by the government.
